GetPlugzz builds Chrome extensions that are designed with privacy as a first principle. This policy explains what data our extensions do — and don't — collect.
Data we do NOT collect
Our extensions collect zero personal data. Specifically, we do not collect, transmit, store, or share:
- Personal identification information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Browsing history or website visits
- Page content or any text you select or copy
- Form data, passwords, or credentials
- IP addresses or device identifiers
- Crash reports or analytics telemetry
- Any information about you or your device
How settings are stored
Some extensions store per-site preferences (for example, whether you've enabled JustCopy on a particular website). These preferences are stored locally in your browser using standard browser storage mechanisms (such as localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.
AI Code Harvester: Workspace, history and "Report a problem"
AI Code Harvester reads the code blocks and the text of the conversation shown in your ChatGPT or Gemini tab. This happens only inside your browser: it is used to build the file list, previews and exports you ask for, and nothing is sent to us or to any other server.
- Workspace and exports. Previews, ZIP files, single-page HTML, Markdown, PDF and "chat to continue in another AI" are all created on your computer.
- Download history. If you leave it on, the files of your recent ZIP downloads are kept in your browser's own local storage so you can open or download them again. It never includes the conversation, and it stays on your device. You can turn it off or delete it at any time in the Workspace settings.
- Settings. Your colour, panel position, save-location choice and similar preferences are stored in your browser's extension storage.
- "Check that everything works". This test runs locally and only tells you whether the extension can still read the page.
- "Report a problem". This is entirely your choice. The extension only copies our email address and shows you technical details (extension version, browser, language, simple counts such as the number of code blocks or messages found, and the names of page attributes). It never includes your code or your conversation, and it sends nothing by itself: you decide whether and how to email it.
No remote code
None of our extensions load or execute code from remote servers. All functionality is entirely contained within the extension package itself. We do not use analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or any third-party scripts inside our extensions.
One note on AI Code Harvester's preview: it shows the web page that you asked an AI to write. That page runs in an isolated, sandboxed frame inside the extension, with no access to the extension, your browser or your data. If the page itself refers to a library on the internet (for example a CDN), your browser loads it just as it would if you opened the page yourself. That is the content of your page, not code of the extension.
No third-party data sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties — because we don't collect any to begin with. The donation links in our extensions open PayPal.me in a new tab; these are standard web links and are subject to PayPal's own privacy policy.
This website (getplugzz.com)
The GetPlugzz website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, referral sources). Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser. We do not collect account information; the only thing we store is an email address if you choose to subscribe (see below). For details on Google's data practices, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Email updates. If you enter your email address in one of our subscribe forms (in the page header, on the home page, or in a box that offers a free PDF guide), we store that address and the time you signed up in a Google Firebase (Firestore) database. We use it only to tell you about new posts, tools and extensions, and we never sell or share it. To be removed from the list, write to contact@getplugzz.com.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change our data practices, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Since we collect so little data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
